Magnetic
Head & Smart Card Reader Cleaning Card Fact Sheet
REMEMBER: Use the Cleaning Cards first, and if
there is still a problem, then call for repair!
1.
There are two different types of Cleaning Cards:
The first type (the only one we
currently sell) does not have an encoded magnetic stripe
on it and can be used in all swipe readers, optic readers push or dip type readers and in
ATM’s that do not have Contamination Control Gates.
The second type has an encoded
Magnetic Stripe on it and is for only those ATM’s that have Contamination Control Gates
(also known as Entry Gates or Sentinels). This Magnetic Stripe is encoded on all three tracks and may be used in any
country.

Contamination builds up on all read/write heads due to magnetic oxides, dust, dirt, grease, fingerprint oils, etc. that are on
credit cards. The magnetic reader head scrapes the magnetic stripe on the credit card during the reading process. These contaminants
when left on the read/write heads often result in processing errors, lost data, downtime, increased magnetic head wear and ultimately an
expensive service call. (Look at the magnetic stripe on your credit card and you will see these scrapes!)

Dirty heads causes more than 50% of machine downtime. The less you call your Field Service Company, the less your repair
bills are going to be. In fact if you have a Service Contract, the less you’re monthly and/or annual renewal fee should be. Our

Magnetic Card Reader Cleaning Cards…
These cards are uniquely made to remove all forms
of dust, lint and other contaminants that build up on magnetic and optic reader heads or on the PVC plastic card thermal print heads.

Smart Clean-R-Cards™ Cleaning Cards…
These cards are dynamically shaped and longer than
a conventional head-cleaning card. The length and the bowtie design allow the card to slide side-to-side to clean the chip reader and
the magnetic reader heads. This card is safe for all Smart Card readers with or without magnetic readers or optic readers. Made to
exacting industry specifications and saturated with 99.99% Isopropyl Alcohol the cleaning card is safe and easy to use. The bowtie shape
allows it to be moved from side-to-side when inserted thereby cleaning the Smart Card Chip Reader Contacts.
