• Thermal Paper is used in most restaurant point of sales systems (pos), credit card printers, drive thru timers, ATM Machines and Pay at the pump printers.
• Thermal paper is "heat sensitive" so it does not require any ink.
• In normal storage thermal paper should remain legible for 5-7 years
• Thermal paper should be stored in a cool dry place
• Thermal paper should not be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Thermal paper does not come in 2 ply form
• Thermal printers should be cleaned periodically for a longer life.
• The most standard sizes of thermal paper is 2 1/4" and 3 1/8"
• The quality of thermal paper DOES make a difference, using paper that is too abrasive may cause damage the print head causing it to fail prematurely.
• Important documentation that is recorded on thermal paper should be copied onto regular paper, to ensure it will be readable in the future.
